Lancelot E. Theobald, Jr. (Creator/Choreographer)

After surviving a deadly plane crash, Lancelot decided to leave his career as a professional football player to pursue his love for performing, modeling, choreography and directing. One of Lancelot’s proudest achievements has been to develop the concept of older mothers performing to professional Hip-Hop choreography. This concept has blossomed into MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ phenom-moms. It was the passion and commitment of these women in learning something new and experiencing something different, that compelled Lancelot to take a chance and do something ground breaking.

"Knowing that the MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ sisterhood brings joy, happiness and fulfillment into their lives, makes me very happy", says Lancelot. "I just knew America would love them, and recognize what I saw in them". In addition to choreographing for The Knicks City Dancers, Lancelot juggles his artist development clients, co-produces, choreographs, and directs Hip-Hop shows, and still pursues his love of acting by starring in several theater and film productions. He owes special thanks to his manager, Richard Willis, Jr. for believing in his talent, and to his wife, Patrice, for being his # 1 fan.

Barbara Adler (Dance Captain)

Barbara, a 47 year old married mother of three boys (8yrs, 10yrs, 12yrs,) spends her time juggling motherhood and life as a member of MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™. As a girl, Barbara’s hopes of becoming a performer were way-layed when her parents did not support her desires to go to a high school for performing arts. Barbara went "that" way instead and became an Early Childhood Developmental Specialist. After age 40, Barbara’s dreams came true when she and the other members of MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ were discovered. It’s a daily struggle to balance career, home life, and MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ but it is worth it when you are realizing your true calling. As the MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ Dance Captain and Marketing/ Publicity maven, Barbara can "do it all" after the kids go to bed! To All Mothers Out There: "Listen to your little voices telling you what truly makes you happy. Then, work hard at finding ways to experience that thing and make it a part of your life. You don’t have to leave your job; you don’t have to give up on your families, but to incorporate your dreams and passions -even in a small way- will make an enormous difference in your inner happiness. For me, dancing with MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ is bringing indescribable joy to my life, and teaching my sons valuable lessons in nurturing one’s true self while remaining devoted to a family. I’ve even taught my boys how to bust a few moves!" WORD!

Audrey Feiner

I’m Audrey Feiner. I’m married, with an eleven-year old son, living in Roslyn, Long Island. I am a clinical social worker and psychoanalyst with a private practice. I love my work. In 2000, I stumbled upon a local hip-hop dance class. I’ve always been an avid runner and skier, but trying something new and unexpected at this age and stage of life (I’m floating in my 50s!), enlivened an old passion for dancing. Being a perfectionist, it was, and still is, particularly challenging to have fun while learning something totally new and different. MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ enjoys inspiring women to do the same. I love the spirit, the drive and the exhilaration of dancing and love the comraderie of the sisterhood. Imagine what it is like being a working mother and finding all this! MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ has been an incredibly lucky accident!

Susan Estep

As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a dancer. A classically trained ballet and modern dancer, I was not accepted into a dance company in New York. Despite this, I remain committed to the dance world. I continue to take classes in ballet, modern and jazz and occasionally teach. Following my first massage when my chronic knee pain disappeared, I declared: "I can lead a pain free life!!! Others can too!" This made my decision in becoming a massage therapist. On a whim, I broke from my usual routine of classes and took a free (as any struggling artist would) introductory Hip-Hop dance class with Lancelot Theobald, Jr. I’ve been hooked ever since. MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ has given me my chance to shine in dance. At home, my family enjoys performing in Community Theater productions and ballroom dancing. At age 50, I’ve learned to take good care of my body through acupuncture, arnica and massage. It is how I can keep "poppin’ and lockin"! I am lucky to have a supportive husband, a daughter and two step-sons.

Lori Lee

As the mother of three small children, and the newest member of MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™, my life is incredibly active. My love of dance started as a young girl with friends practicing in our basements. Before long we were clubbing every weekend. As a 22 yr old with a degree in Visual Arts, I moved to New York City. I lived near a major dance studio, and dared myself to go in and take a class. I was hooked. I worked full-time as a Decorative Painter, and took as many after-work classes as I could fit in. Several years later I married a fabulous Chef, and promptly gained ten pounds! We moved to Long Island to start a family. After my third child, (and yet another ten pounds) I was looking for a way to get fit that motivated me. I happened to read a New York Times article about three Hip-Hop dancing moms from Long Island dancing to the choreography of Lancelot Theobald, Jr. After a bit of cyber-stalking, I tracked him down and took his advanced class. A week after my 39th birthday Lancelot pulled me aside to ask me my age. Utterly depressed by the prospect of being just a year away from the big "4-0" I reluctantly told the truth. "You're not old enough yet" he said. "Come see me in a year, I might have an opportunity for you." I knew about MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™ and my excitement at the prospect of being considered to join, even with a year left to wait, powered me through the year with anxious anticipation. Turning 40 became a positive benchmark. Seeing women in their forties and fifties so fit, with so much energy, made me realize that age is truly just a number. Dancing gives me the energy and stress-relief I need to be a good wife and mother, juggle Decorative Painting jobs, and maintain a positive attitude every day. I'm now a full-fledged member of MOMZ-N-DA HOOD™, and I couldn't be more grateful!
